Costruita tra il XII e il XVI secolo all'estremità di uno sperone roccioso, la chiesa fu utilizzata come struttura difensiva, come testimonia un parapetto sul portale occidentale. L'ingresso e il coro della chiesa sono di architettura romanica. Nel periodo gotico, la navata centrale fu ricoperta di ogive, sostenute alla base da curiose teste ghignanti in pietra. Fu aggiunta una seconda navata, nella quale si apriva la porta per i lebbrosi. L'arredamento della chiesa comprende un pulpito, una pala d'altare e una statua di San Cristoforo.
