De kerk werd tussen de 12e en 16e eeuw gebouwd op het einde van een rotsachtige uitloper en diende als verdedigingswerk, zoals blijkt uit een hekwerk boven het westelijke portaal. De ingang en het koor van de kerk zijn van romaanse architectuur. In de gotische periode is het schip bedekt met bogen, die aan hun basis worden ondersteund door merkwaardige stenen grijnzende hoofden. Een tweede schip werd toegevoegd, waarin de deur voor melaatsen uitkwam. Het kerkmeubilair omvat een preekstoel, een altaarstuk en een beeld van Sint Christoffel.
