Il Musée du Vieux Montpellier, situato al primo piano dell'Hôtel particulier de Varennes, presenta mobili e cimeli legati alla storia di Montpellier (Medioevo, XVII e XVIII secolo, Rivoluzione, Impero, ecc.)
La collezione comprende numerosi ritratti, incisioni, statuette religiose, tessuti, ecc. e in particolare alcuni pezzi importanti: una Madonna Nera con Bambino del XIII secolo, il "gabinetto d'oro dei consoli" (XVII secolo) e le pietre della Bastiglia
Durante la visita, scoprirete la sala dei ricevimenti, la sala delle processioni, il salone del XVIII secolo, la sala della rivoluzione e la sala del camino.
