Nato in una famiglia che lavora il legno da tre generazioni, Jean-Luc ha iniziato a lavorare con i legni europei (castagno, frassino, faggio, ecc.), prima di trascorrere vent'anni nella Guyana francese, dove ha scoperto le specie amazzoniche nel settore industriale. Trasferitosi a Lembras alla fine del 2021, si è dedicato alla sua attività attuale, che consiste nel valorizzare ciò che la natura offre. Il suo lavoro si concentra in particolare sui colori, le venature, i riflessi e le forme del legno e propone oggetti decorativi e utilitari, oltre a commissioni. Jean-Luc acquista legno certificato PEFC dalla Guyana e lo essicca in loco a Lembras, per ottenere il livello di umidità ideale per l'uso in Francia continentale.
