La storia della pittoresca cappella Bonne Fontaine de Hoste ebbe inizio nel 1799, quando un'apparizione mariana si verificò nei pressi di una sorgente, davanti a un bambino sordomuto che fu guarito. Ben presto apparvero altre storie di guarigione e furono organizzati importanti pellegrinaggi, nel contesto della Rivoluzione francese, che non apprezzava questi movimenti di folla. Nel 1848 fu eretto un calvario e fu sviluppata la sorgente. Infine, all'alba della Prima Guerra Mondiale, fu eretta la cappella per accogliere il fervore religioso suscitato da questo luogo ricco di credenze e leggende.
