Fu istituito nel 1830 per consentire le cariche di addestramento dei reggimenti di cavalleria, tra cui il XX Drago. Il lavoro dei fratelli Bühler, famosi giardinieri paesaggisti del XIX secolo, è stato purtroppo dimenticato. La parte inferiore del giardino è stata completamente ricostruita intorno al 1928. Vicino al grande stagno, si possono ammirare le aiuole, decorate con la tecnica specifica della mosaicatura. Sebbene i bronzi siano stati fusi durante la guerra, il giardino deve il suo carattere alle aiuole e agli alberi che lo adornano.
