Holving è un comune che si estende su sei frazioni: Holving, Ballering, Bettring, Dieferfing, Hinsing e Hirbach.
Il Mutterbach (affluente dell'Albe) attraversa il comune.
Lo stagno di Hirbach (52 ettari) fa parte della Linea Maginot acquatica, creata nel 1939 per completare il buco lasciato nella Linea Maginot dal rifiuto del referendum della Saar di diventare francese.
