La Tour du Plô (fine del XIII secolo) è l'unico resto civile di questo periodo. Questo torrione quadrato in pietra, alto più di 20 metri, proteggeva la popolazione e faceva rispettare i diritti di polizia e di giustizia del visconte di Limoges. In occitano, "plô" significa "piccolo altopiano" o "luogo su un punto elevato". L'ingresso si trovava a 5 metri dal livello del suolo. Il piano terra era una prigione. Il secondo piano era riservato al visconte quando si fermava. Il terzo piano portava il suo stendardo ed era utilizzato dalle "gens d'armes" per fare la guardia.
Nel 1998 la torre è stata dichiarata monumento storico. La città di Saint-Yrieix e la Communauté de Communes du pays de Saint-Yrieix hanno avviato un programma di restauro (2019-2021) per ripristinare i piani e le murature dell'ultimo piano, ormai scomparsi. Una terrazza panoramica, accessibile tramite un centinaio di gradini, dà accesso a un punto di vista unico sulla città.
