Torre dell'acqua costruita nel 1788 (data indicata), alla fine del XVIII secolo (anno IV), sulle mura della fortezza, sormontata da un edificio adibito ad ufficio dell'ingegnere capo.
Fontaine Louis XVI è anche chiamata Fontaine de la Chefferie.
La sala macchine fu poi convertita in sale comuni. Tra il 1844 e il 1865 fu costruito un edificio simile dall'altro lato delle scale, con scuderie, un capannone nell'argine e un ufficio sull'argine. Gli edifici sull'argine furono danneggiati durante la guerra del 1939-1945. I resti furono distrutti nel 1958. Decorato dallo scultore Antoine Harrewyn, noto come Beau Soleil.
