La sesta Sandettié, che prese il nome dal Banc de Sandettié , fu l' ultima nave antincendio francese ad entrare in servizio.
Fu costruito nel 1947 presso Forges et chantiers de la Méditerranée, a Graville le Havre, con il nome di BF 6 (bateau-feu n° 6) e fu dismesso nel giugno 1989 quando fu acquistato dalla città di Dunkerque.
Ora fa parte della collezione galleggiante del Musée Portuaire de Dunkerque , insieme allo schooner a tre alberi Duchesse Anne. Il Sandettié è stato classificato come monumento storico dal 17 marzo 19972. È una delle sole quattro navi faro ancora visibili in Francia e l'unica che può essere visitata.
