Klazienaveen-Noord è un villaggio nella provincia olandese di Drenthe, comune di Emmen, nell'area chiamata De Blokken. Nel 2019 aveva 4.893 abitanti. Il villaggio è nato lungo il Scholtenskanaal e si chiamava inizialmente Smeulveen, dal nome delle terre paludose del posto.
La famiglia Scholten era proprietaria delle terre paludose ed era il principale produttore di torba. Per questo motivo fondò la Maatschappij Klazienaveen.
