Jonkersvaart è un villaggio situato lungo l'omonimo canale nel comune di Westerkwartier in Groningen e ha circa 225 abitanti. L'area rurale attorno a Jonkersvaart conta 248 abitanti. Già nel 1765 si parla del "jonkersgruppel", un corso d'acqua a beneficio dello smaltimento delle acque durante l'estrazione della torba. Intorno al 1780, l'estrazione della torba ricevette un nuovo impulso grazie al jonker Ferdinand Folef von Innhausen und Kniphausen e sua moglie Anna Maria Graafland, che fecero costruire un canale navigabile. Questo jonker ha dato il nome al canale e al villaggio. Il quartiere Graveland è stato chiamato in onore di Anna Maria Graafland, un quartiere che è collegato alla Jonkersvaart tramite Zandwijk.
