Le Wezenputten sono due monumentali pozzi d'acqua presso il villaggio texano di Oudeschild. Nell'epoca della VOC le navi sostavano nella rada di Texel in attesa di venti favorevoli. Sull'isola venivano riforniti di provviste e acqua potabile, con l'acqua che per lungo tempo proveniva dai pozzi. A causa del contenuto di ferro, l'acqua di Texel si mantenne per lungo tempo e questo era importante per le navi che, fino al Capo di Buona Speranza, non avevano altre fonti di acqua potabile. A un certo punto, i pozzi furono di proprietà dei reggenti dell'orfanotrofio di Den Burg, che così aveva una fonte di reddito. Nel 1676 fu stabilito che anche i residenti di Texel dovevano pagare per l'acqua prelevata dai pozzi.
