L'Oelemars è una grande cava di estrazione della sabbia dove viene ancora estratta sabbia. Consiste per lo più in una pozzanghera scavata a una profondità di 15 metri. L'estrazione della sabbia si trova nell'area De Zandbergen-Oelemars, una riserva agricola, ricreativa e naturale tra Losser e il confine tedesco. Originariamente è principalmente una palude e una brughiera. Il nome Oelemars significa 'palude in cui si trovano i gufi'. Il comune di Losser ha sviluppato una visione per il futuro dell'intera area.
