Die Oelemars ist eine große Sandabbaugrube, in der weiterhin Sand abgebaut wird. Sie besteht hauptsächlich aus einer bis zu 15 Meter tiefen Grube. Der Sandabbau befindet sich im Gebiet De Zandbergen-Oelemars, einem landwirtschaftlichen, Freizeit- und Naturschutzgebiet zwischen Losser und der deutschen Grenze. Ursprünglich handelt es sich hauptsächlich um ein Moor- und Heidegebiet. Der Name Oelemars bedeutet 'Sumpf, in dem Eulen vorkommen'. Die Gemeinde Losser hat eine Vision für die zukünftige Entwicklung des gesamten Gebiets erstellt.
