Dietro un bellissimo cancello in ferro battuto si trova il cimitero "Ter Navolging", il primo cimitero non ebraico nei Paesi Bassi ad essere stato realizzato al di fuori dell'abitato. Si era creata, soprattutto per motivi igienici, resistenza all'uso di seppellire i morti dentro e attorno alle chiese. Per questo motivo A. Perrenot (1726-1784), uno svizzero legato alla corte dei governatori Guglielmo IV e Guglielmo V, che nel 1748 aveva conseguito il dottorato con la tesi "Sull'interdizione di seppellire in città e nelle chiese", decise di realizzare un cimitero nelle dune di Scheveningen. Egli chiamò il cimitero "Ter Navolging", nella speranza che l'esempio venisse seguito. La prima sepoltura ebbe luogo qui l'11 maggio 1780.
