Il Gooijer fu costruito nel 1775. Il mulino è del tipo a terra e ha la funzione di mulino di polder. Il mulino si trova presso Wolvega lungo il ruscello de Linde.
Originariamente, il mulino si trovava presso Blesdijke. Dopo circa sessant'anni, il mulino fu spostato per la prima volta circa nel 1835 a Noordwolde, dove ha funzionato per circa ottanta anni come mulino per cereali. Nel 1917, il mulino fu spostato per la seconda volta. Prima del restauro nel 1991, il mulino era conosciuto come De Walden, ed è stato rinominato in onore dell'ultimo mugnaio professionista del mulino. Il proprietario è l'associazione It Fryske Gea.
