De Cocksdorp è il villaggio più giovane e settentrionale di Texel. Il villaggio è nato nel 1835 ed è stato intitolato a Nicolas Joseph de Cock, che ha preso l'iniziativa per la costruzione di argini e la bonifica della Buitenveld, l'area di bonifica tra la vecchia terra di Texel e l'isola di Eijerland.
La Waddenkerk a De Cocksdorp (monumento nazionale) è una piccola chiesa neoclassica che risale al 1841. Sopra l'ingresso si trova un piccolo campanile. La facciata della Waddenkerk a De Cocksdorp presenta pilastri ionici e lesene angolari.
