De Cocksdorp is het jongste en meest noordelijke dorp van Texel. Het dorp is in 1835 ontstaan en is vernoemd naar Nicolas Joseph de Cock die het initiatief genomen heeft tot bedijking en inpoldering van het Buitenveld, het kweldergebied tussen het oude land van Texel en het eiland Eijerland.
De Waddenkerk in De Cocksdorp (rijksmonument) is een neoclassicistisch zaalkerkje dat dateert uit 1841. Boven de ingang bevindt zich een kleine klokkentoren. De voorgevel van de Waddenkerk in De Cocksdorp heeft ionische pilasters en geblokte zijlisenen.
