Il Galgeven è con 16 ettari uno dei più grandi sloughs delle foreste di Oisterwijk. All'inizio del XIX secolo, questo slough passò nelle mani di produttori tessili di Tilburg che lo utilizzarono per lavare la lana. Sui collinetti circostanti c'erano un patibolo e un mulino per il pieno: un mulino industriale azionato dal vento che veniva utilizzato per 'pienare' la lana, cioè per rifinirla.
