Questa chiesa romanica, del XIII secolo , con ricostruzione neoclassica, fu sede della Colegiada de Valença e del vescovado di Ceuta.

All'interno, spicca la cattedra episcopale gotico-mudéjar , risalente al XV secolo e unico dipinto della Vergine del Latte sfuggito all'Inquisizione in Portogallo. Nel coro alto si trova un organo dei primi del XVI secolo.

All'esterno c'è un grande cimitero.
