Deze Romaanse kerk, uit de 13e eeuw, met neoklassieke reconstructie, was de zetel was van de Colegiada de Valença en het bisdom Ceuta.
Binnen valt de bisschoppelijke stoel in gotisch-Mudejar-stijl op, daterend uit de 15e eeuw en het enige schilderij van de Maagd van de Melk dat aan de inquisitie in Portugal ontsnapte. In het hoge koor bevindt zich een orgel uit het begin van de 16e eeuw.
Buiten is er een groot kerkhof.
