Il Saint James General Store è un negozio generale situato all'angolo nord-ovest di Moriches e Harbor Hill Roads a Saint James, New York. Fondato nel 1857, è una proprietà che contribuisce al Distretto di Saint James, situato principalmente nei pressi della Route 25A dello Stato di New York a St. James, sebbene il negozio si trovi a nord-ovest della Route 25A.
Nei primi anni '40 dell'800, Ebenezer Smith, un discendente del fondatore della Town of Smithtown Richard "Bull" Smith, cercava avventura in un'escursione commerciale a ovest della Valle del fiume Mississippi con coloni bianchi e nativi americani. Dopo aver sentito parlare della corsa all'oro in California, Smith si diresse ulteriormente a ovest nel tentativo di espandere la sua fortuna.
