Enghien of Edingen is een klein stadje op de taalgrens ten zuidwesten van Halle. Vanaf de 17e eeuw behoorde het stadje toe aan de invloedrijke familie van Arenberg. Die liet er rond hun kasteel één van de mooiste parken uit Europa aanleggen. Van het kasteel blijft alleen nog de toren van de 12e eeuwse kasteelkapel over. Maar je kan nog wel rondwandelen in het prachtige park langs ondermeer een Chinees paviljoentje uit de 18e eeuw.
Enghien een centrum van de tapijtweefkunst tussen de 15e en de 18e eeuw. Enkele prachtige tapijten uit die tijd kan je in het Musée de la Tapisserie bewonderen. Het is ondergebracht in het Maison de Jonathas, een 16e eeuwse herenwoning gebouwd rondom een 12e eeuwse Romaanse donjon.
