De naam "Het Pandreitje" in Brugge de geschiedenis in gegaan als de naam van een gevangenis. In 1827 werd het vleeshuis omgebouwd tot rijksgevangenis en dat zou zo blijven tot 1989. Al die tijd werd de gevangenis genoemd naar de straat waar ze aan lag. En iedereen wist wat bedoeld werd met "Hij zit in 't Pandreitje". De oude gevangenis werd gesloopt in 1992. Ze moest plaats maken voor een binnenstadsverkaveling met 75 woningen.
