Der Name "Het Pandreitje" ist in Brügge als der Name eines Gefängnisses in die Geschichte eingegangen. 1827 wurde das Fleischhaus in ein Staatsgefängnis umgebaut und das sollte bis 1989 so bleiben. Während dieser ganzen Zeit wurde das Gefängnis nach der Straße benannt, an der es lag. Und jeder wusste, was mit "Er sitzt im 't Pandreitje" gemeint war. Das alte Gefängnis wurde 1992 abgerissen. Es musste Platz machen für eine Innenstadtentwicklung mit 75 Wohnungen.
