De Semois trekt door het Luxemburgse leisteen talrijke, soms erg nauwe bochten. De beroemdste meander is wellicht die bij Botassart, een gehucht van Ucimont en derhalve van Bouillon. Het nauwe "schiereiland" binnen die bocht wordt Graf van de Reus genoemd. De hellingen doen denken aan de wanden van een sarcofaag. Vroeger heeft men, boven op de met loofbomen beboste heuvel, naaldbomen aangeplant in kruisvorm; dat was goed te zien in de winter. Maar dat kun je er nu niet meer in herkennen. Je kan het wel nog zien op satellietbeelden en luchtfoto's.
