Hoboken is een plaats in België en een district van de stad Antwerpen. Tegen de Schelde kent Hoboken veel industrie, met als bekendste naam Umicore. In de media wordt Hoboken, evenals Wilrijk, het zuiderdistrict genoemd.
De naam Hoboken is samengesteld uit twee bestandsdelen: Ho en boken. Ho is een afkorting van Hoog, boken komt van het Middelnederlandse boeken, wat tegenwoordig beuken heet. Hoboken betekent dus Hoge Beuken, bomen die de gemeente al eeuwenlang sieren. Naar de Hoge Beuken is het ziekenhuis van Hoboken genoemd.
