Standaardmolen uit 1773 van het type driezolder, wat betekent dat er een extra zolder; de ‘hel’ werd voorzien onder de graanzolder, waar het meel tot bloem werd gemalen. De molen werd in 1921 overgebracht uit Torhout. De molen werd uitgebaat tot 1975. De molen – ook wel Berghe’s molen genoemd naar de molenaarsfamilie Vandenberghe - is eigendom van de gemeente Kortemark en is beschermd sinds 14 april 1944.
