Description

Fort van tweede orde, uitgevoerd ter vervollediging van de hoofdverdedigingslinie van de stad en voorzien bij wet van 30 maart 1906. De bedoeling was de stad Antwerpen te beveiligen tegen een artilleriebombardement. Werken aangevat in 1908 en beëindigd in 1914. In 1939 verbonden met de antitankgracht. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog gebruikt door de ontmijningsdienst van het Belgisch leger en gedeclasseerd bij Regentsbesluit van 2 april 1947. De militaire overheid verkocht het fort in 1970 en heden in gebruik als jachtterrein.
