In 1985 is Massimo Dutti opgericht in Spanje. In eerste instantie werd er enkel menswear verkocht. In 1995 lanceerde ze de eerste womenswear collectie, met een gevarieerde van stijlen van casual tot geraffineerd en tijdloos. Vandaag, hebben ze een commerciële aanwezigheid in 68 landen waaronder Europa, Amerika, Azië met meer dan 700 winkels.
De ketens behoren tot de Inditex groep, één van de grootste fashion retails in de wereld met meer dan 6,460 winkels in 88 landen verspreid over 5 continenten. Naast Massimo Dutti en Zara, behoren volgende merken ook tot de Inditex groep; Pull&Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home en Uterquë.
