Het Goed ter Loo bekleedt een belangrijke plaats in de geschiedenis van Loppem. In de 17de en 18de eeuw was ter Loo de zetel van de heerlijkheden Loppem en Den Houtschen. Van 1551 tot 1916 was het kasteel bewoond door de familie De Schietere de Lophem. Het kasteel is niet toegankelijk maar het park wel. Naast een leuke picknickplaats en een infobord is er ook een korte wandellus voorzien, die je door het park loodst en de bezienswaardigheden onderweg zoals de kerk en het kasteel.
