Het Goed ter Loo occupies an important place in the history of Loppem. In the 17th and 18th centuries, ter Loo was the seat of the lordships of Loppem and Den Houtschen. From 1551 to 1916, the castle was inhabited by the De Schietere de Lophem family. The castle is not accessible, but the park is.
