Dit musea telte de geschiedenis van Albert Thys. Hij is geboren in Dalhem in 1849. Attaché aan het militaire huis van koning Leopold II werd hij adjudant van de Internationale Afrikaanse Vereniging. Vanaf 1885 had hij plannen om een spoorlijn aan te leggen in de Kongo om de westkust met Leopoldstad te verbinden, en zal later opzichter worden bij de aanlegwerken ervan. In 1899 richt Thys de Banque d'Outremer op om de vestiging van bedrijven in het buitenland, vooral Afrika, aan te moedigen. Dalhem en Thysville/Mbanza-Nungu zijn partner sinds 2005.
