Het fort van Barchon ging ten onder door de bestormingen van het Duitse leger op 8 augustus 1914. In 1940 was haar weerstand sterker. Van 10 tot 18 mei brengt het fort herhaaldelijk slagen toe aan de vijand die reageren met een voortdurend bombardement van artillerie en Stukas.
Open elke 2de zondag in de maand om 14u van april tot november. Het bezoek begint met een diavoorstelling en eindigt met een bezoek aan het museum.
