De Mijnterril van Beringen is een levende herinnering aan het rijke Limburgse steenkoolmijnverleden. Wat vroeger een afvalberg van opgehoopte stenen was, is nu een heuvel waar bosjes en open plekken elkaar afwisselen... en het beste van al: er is een permanent mountainbike parcours gemaakt waar recreanten zich kunnen uitleven op de groene lus en de gevorderden zeker hun gading vinden op de uitdagende rode lus. Het MTB-park op de terril van Be-Mine, ook wel Avonturenberg genoemd, is dan ook een uniek bikepark. Dit is voor vele off-road liefhebbers een nog onontgonnen fietsmogelijkheid.
