Sedert het jaar 2000 toont de vzw Opslot in een gerestaureerd fabriekspand een merkwaardige en vrijwel unieke collectie historische en hedendaagse sloten.
De collectie bevat voorwerpen van vóór de Romeinse periode tot nu. Het hoogtepunt van de collectie zijn de meesterwerken uit de middeleeuwen en de renaissancetijd; echte staaltjes van kunst en vakmanschap.
De collectie bevat ook sloten uit Azië en Afrika, en een apart deel is gewijd aan de slotenindustrie van West-Vlaanderen uit de recente 20e eeuw.
