Dit is het enige taalgrensoverschrijdend, erkend natuurreservaat van ons land. Het 80 ha grote reservaat werd gesticht in 1987 en bestrijkt het gebouwvrije deel van de Marke. Sinds kort is nagenoeg de hele Markevallei ingetekend als ‘Habitatrichtlijngebied’ (Natura 2000) en een deel als ‘Stiltegebied’. In de schuur van de historische St. Antoonhoeve werd een bezoekerscentrum ingericht met dia-montages en posters.
Je ziet een gevarieerd landschap van knotwilgen, hagen, houtwallen meanderende beekjes en moerasgebieden. De extensieve begrazing van bepaalde percelen gebeurt door galloways, een meestal zwart behaard runderras dat oorspronkelijk uit het zuidwesten van Schotland komt. Het zijn grote grazers die weinig zorg nodig hebben en niet agressief zijn.
