We bevinden ons aan de rand van de mooiste rivier van de regio: de Woluwe. Net zoals de Zenne of de Maalbeek is de Woluwe een belangrijke rivier die door het Brusselse landschap kronkelt. Maar omdat ze iets meer afgelegen ligt en industriële ontwikkeling er dus iets moeilijker was in de 19e eeuw, is het landelijke karakter bewaard gebleven. Het interessante biotoop staat nu in ieder geval op de lijst Natura 2000. Hier kijk je uit over verschillende typische landschappen van de regio, bestaande uit waterlopen die door de moerasgebieden in overstromingsvalleien stromen. De naam 'Brussel', die afgeleid zou zijn van het woord 'Bruocsella' of 'moerasgebied', klinkt hier meer dan logisch!
