Deze voetgangerstunnel gaat onder de spoorweglijn 43. Hij verbindt de route du Thier met de route de Durbuy.
Op 25 juli 1865 werd de spoorlijn 43 tussen Melreux en Marloie geopend, en één jaar later, op 1 augustus 1866 werd de lijn tussen Angleur en Melreux opengesteld. In Melreux vind je het station Hotton-Melreux dat verbinding geeft naar Luik-Guillemins. Tijdsduur van de rit is ca 1 uur.
