De Poekebeekvallei bestaat uit typische beeklandgraslanden en bosjes.
De meeste bomen in de vallei zijn opnieuw aangeplant door Natuurpunt om te helpen met het herstel van de vallei. In de winter overstroomt het gebied zeer regelmatig waardoor je er vogels zoals steltlopers en de kievit kunt spotten. Er is ook aan het herstel van amfibieën in het gebied gedacht, door het graven van twee poelen. Daardoor kan je hier nu bruine kikkers en alpenwatersalamanders tegenkomen.
