La vall de Poekebeek està formada per pastures i arbredes típiques.
Natuurpunt ha replantat la majoria dels arbres de la vall per contribuir a recuperar-los. A l'hivern, la zona s'inunda amb freqüència, cosa que permet albirar aus com limícoles i avefries. També s'ha considerat la recuperació d'amfibis a la zona mitjançant la construcció de dos estanys. Com a resultat, ara es poden observar granotes marrons i tritons alpins.
