La vallée du Poekebeek est constituée de prairies et de bosquets typiques.
La plupart des arbres de la vallée ont été replantés par Natuurpunt afin de contribuer à sa restauration. En hiver, la zone est régulièrement inondée , ce qui permet d'observer des oiseaux comme des échassiers et des vanneaux. La restauration des amphibiens a également été envisagée, avec le creusement de deux étangs. On peut ainsi y observer des grenouilles brunes et des tritons alpestres.
