Het imposante beeldhouwwerk The Navigator Monument van Simon Dybbroe Møller is gebaseerd op het logo van Netscape Navigator. De voormalige zoekmachine verloor eind jaren negentig zijn leidende positie op het internet aan Microsoft Explorer. Hij goot het digitale scheepsroer-logo in brons. Nu het naar zijn maritieme context terugkeert, zal de zoute omgeving het patineringsproces versnellen en ervoor zorgen dat het scheepsroer uiteindelijk groen wordt, net zoals het originele Netscape-logo.
De badplaats Westende werd ontworpen door de familie van Paul Otlet, een internet visionair uit het begin van de vorige eeuw. Heel toepasselijk dus dat Westende vandaag dit monument voor een vroegere internettoepassing huisvest.
