In 965 schreef een Arabische koopman en reiziger, Ibrahim Ibn Ya'qub : "Praag is gebouwd van steen en cement en heeft het grootste handelscentrum. Slaven zijn over het algemeen moedig en dapper ... Ze bewerken het vruchtbare land dat hun overvloedig voedsel voorziet. "
