Deze voorstad van Berlijn werd beroemd in 1906 door een werkloze schoenmaker Wilhelm Voig. Hij trop een kapiteinsjas en pet aan en beval een groepje soldaten hem te volgen naar het stadhuis. Op het stadhuis vroeg hij de gemeentekas met 4000 mark en kreeg hij die ook. Hij werd nadien opgepakt maar de keizer Wilhelm van Duitsland gaf hem gratie want hij werd als een soort Duitse Robin Hood.
