Die Schauenburg, ook wel Scouwenborg genoemd, 1143 Scowenburch, 1184 Schowinburc of 1240 Scoenburc, is de ruïne van een hoogteburcht in het gemeentegebied van Schauenburg in de Noordhessische Landkreis Kassel.
De burchtruïne Schauenburg bevindt zich in het natuurpark Habichtswald op een 499,9 m ü. NHN hoge basaltkegel, de Schauenburger Burgberg, die zich in de Hoofer Pforte als noordelijke uitloper van de Langenbergen ten zuidwesten van een bovenloopgedeelte van de Bauna verheft. Ze ligt tussen de hoofdplaats Hoof in het oosten en het deel van Schauenburg, Breitenbach, in het westen. De dichtstbijzijnde grote stad is Kassel, waarvan het stadscentrum ongeveer 12 km oostnoordoostelijk ligt.
