Het Horst-Wessel-monument was een eerbetoon aan de SA-stormleider Horst Wessel, die in 1930 in Berlijn werd vermoord. De resten van het vroegere monument bevinden zich in de Süntel, ongeveer 700 meter in vogelvlucht ten noorden van de Hamelner wijk Welliehausen in Nedersaksen. Het werd vanaf 1933 gepland en tot 1938 gebouwd in de omgeving van vroegere steenbreeken op ongeveer 370 m boven NHN. Met de bouw werd een zichtlijn van 12 kilometer naar de verderop gelegen Bückeberg gerealiseerd, waar van 1933 tot 1937 de rijksoogstfeestvieringen plaatsvonden.
