Het station Fröndenberg is een keilstation aan de spoorlijnen Fröndenberg–Kamen en Letmathe–Fröndenberg, evenals de Boven-Ruhr-vallei spoorlijn. Het ligt in het zuiden van de stad Fröndenberg, vlakbij de Ruhr.
Met de opening van het spoortraject van Schwerte naar Arnsberg van de Boven-Ruhr-vallei spoorlijn door de Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahngesellschaft, kreeg de huidige stad Fröndenberg in juni 1870 haar eerste spoorverbinding. Dichtbij het toenmalige dorp Fröndenberg, dat het huidige stadscentrum vormt, werd een treinstation ingericht.
