Bergheide was een dorp in de voormalige Landkreis Finsterwalde, gelegen ten zuidoosten van Finsterwalde en ten noorden van Lauchhammer. De plaats bevond zich op een beboste hoogvlakte en was met een hoogte van tot 166 m boven NAP de hoogstgelegen plaats in de oude Landkreis Finsterwalde. De buurgemeenten waren in het oosten Sallgast, in het noorden Lichterfeld, in het westen Sorno en in het zuiden Kostebrau en Lauchhammer.
De buurtschappen van Bergheide waren Kleine Mühle, Haide-Mühle, Gohraer Pechhütte, Lichterfelder Pechhütte, Forsthaus Gohra.
